Evelyn P. Courtad age 94 of Forest, died at Lima Memorial Hospital Sun. June 4, 2023. She was born Dec. 25, 1928 to the late Ralph and Ruby (Robinson) Patrick at the home of her maternal grandmother, Ethel (Harmon) Robinson on CR 205, Forest. She lived in four homes during her life and all were within a mile of her birthplace. She married M. Ray Courtad on Aug. 6, 1949 in Cridersville and he survives. She is also survived by sons Ray E. Courtad, and Donald P. (Joanna) Courtad, both of Forest, grandchildren Nathan (Michelle) Courtad, Forest and Neal (Jen) Courtad, Findlay, great grandchildren Derek, Paige, Tristen, Leighton & Kaisten, sisters Shirley Sherman, Kenton, Joyce Patrick and Mary Louise Haley, both of Forest.
She was employed by the Farm Service Agency for 17 ½ years, later served as minority advisor and then a term as County Committee member, she also served as secretary/treasurer for the Upper Scioto Drainage and Conservancy District for 13 years.
Mrs. Courtad was a member of the former Eureka United Methodist Church, Forest. She was a member of Hardin Co. PERS, she and her husband enjoyed antique cars and were members of the REO Club of America since 1972 where she served as secretary for 9 years and was a member of the Nash Car Club. She enjoyed attending Gaither Gospel Music Concerts and sisters day out.
A funeral service will be held Fri. June 9, 2023 at 10:00AM in the Clark Shields Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Phillips Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Hueston Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thurs. June 8, 2023 from 4:00-7:00PM at Clark Shields Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Forest Fire Dept. in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S.
