
Gary L. Hemmerly age 78 of Forest, died June 13, 2025 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born May 2, 1947 in Kenton to the late Paul & Maxine (Mattix) Hemmerly.
Gary married Sue Bailey on Nov. 16, 1968, she survives along with a daughter Tanya Hemmerly, Forest, grandchildren Adam Hemmerly, Ashlee Hackworth, Sceth Conley, Storm Hemmerly, Shayle Roland, Wyatt & Whitniy Roland, great grandchildren Jack, Sam, Lucy, Dot & Achillis, a brother Roger (Marla) Hemmerly, Kenton and sister Susan Myers, MI. He is preceded in death by a son Paul B. Hemmerly, a grandchild Bailey M. Thiel and a brother Rodney Hemmerly.
Mr. Hemmerly was a 1965 graduate of Riverdale High School and had been employed by Rockwell in Kenton for 26 years and retired in 1993. He enjoyed watching old westerns, listening to crypitds AI stories, teaching his grandchildren about gardening, fishing, camping, & spending time with his dogs Ramsey & Tripper. He was a great taste tester for his daughter’s cookie business.
A graveside service will be held on Tues. June 17, 2025 at 10:00AM in the Jackson Center Cemetery with Pastor Ken Gray officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Hardin County Honors Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis or American Lung Association in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S. Patterson St. Forest, OH 45843.
