A private family gathering will be held at a later date from George James “Jim” Candler. It was his wish to be cremated. Jim passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at his home near Ridgeway. He was born on January 13, 1945, in Kenton, Ohio to the late Gearld and Mabel (Ansley) Candler. On September 23, 1967, he married Judith “Judi” Pickering and she survives. Jim is also survived by two children: James Richard Candler of West Virginia, Phyllisa (Todd) Daquino of Kenton, a sister, Jill Payer of Ridgeway, a grandson, Henry and a niece and nephew. Jim worked locally for Rockwell and Durez. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, genealogy, reading, especially history and traveling. He was a very active member of the First Methodist Church in Kenton and served many years on the local library board. Memorials may be made to Universal Home Health and Hospice Care, the Kenton First Methodist Church or the Mary Lou Johnson Hardin County District Library.
