Harold W. “Bill” Koehler age 78 of Upper Sandusky, died at his residence Aug. 20, 2023. He was born July 17, 1945 in Bucyrus to the late Harold J. and Betty Lou (Leser) Koehler. He married Lillian M. “Lil” Burkhart on Jan. 8, 1990, she preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 2015. Surviving is a daughter Tangi Koehler, Upper Sandusky, a son Eric Christopher (Jennifer Hanson) Koehler, FL, step-children, Teresa (Buddy) Seitz, Troy (Angie) Armstrong and Hope (Chris) Leightey, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a brother Michael (Mary) Koehler, Upper Sandusky, and a sister Jan Reed, Coldwater. He is preceded in death by a brother Jon Koehler, a brother-in-law John Reed, and step-son Del Armstrong.
Mr. Koehler was a USHS graduate with the class of 1963. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during Vietnam. Bill was maintenance welder at Eaton Corp., Marion, and operated B & M Gun Shop. He was an auxiliary deputy with the Wyandot Co. Sheriff Dept., and was an officer with the Sycamore Police Dept. He was a member of Warpole Lodge #176 F & AM, Moose Lodge #1093, BPOE #83, VFW Post #2842, American Legion Post #225, AmVets Post #777, Rod and Gun Club, Roger’s Lake Conservation Club, and life member NRA. He was a firearm’s instructor and hunter’s safety course instructor. He enjoyed participating in bowling, dart ball leagues.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30PM Thurs. Aug. 24, 2023 in Old Mission Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard. Visitation will be held from 12:00PM-1:00PM Thurs. Aug. 24, 2023 at the Bringman Clark Funeral Home.
