Obituary for James Conrad Finch

James Conrad Finch, 82, of Kenton, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. He was born on May 23, 1944, in Kenton to the late Mack and Lorena (Bopp) Finch.

James is survived by his daughter, Jill (Jeff) Parker, and four grandchildren: Nahla, Grayson, Madeline, and Lanie.

A veteran of the Ohio National Guard, James graduated from The Ohio State University, where he became a pilot and later a pilot instructor. He was a member of the Kenton Elks, AMVETS Post 1994, and the Sons of the American Revolution. He enjoyed sport shooting and playing the trumpet, performing for a time with the Mack Finch Orchestra in Kenton and the Bonafide Brass Band, as well as playing TAPS for military funeral rites.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. A graveside service with military rites will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Grove Cemetery.

Memorial donations in James’ honor may be made to AMVETS Post 1994, the Kenton Elks, or the Kenton Schools Band Boosters.
