James “Jim” Richard Davis, age 79 of Kenton, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025 at the OSU Medical Center in Columbus, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 26, 1946 in Kenton to the late David and Nelle (Coates) Davis. He married Jayma (Henkle) Davis on June 29, 1969 and she survives.
Jim was a forklift driver for Rockwell for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Kenton Elks #157, Kenton Fraternal Order of the Eagles #2163, and Kenton Moose Lodge #428. He was a very outgoing person and never met a stranger. He loved spending quality time with his family, including taking family vacations, water skiing, boating, and attending many sporting events. He loved to spend time with his wife and best friend, Jayma, often going on cruises and travelling to Las Vegas, Nevada, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was a Buckeye Football fanatic and avid golfer. He was the “World’s Best” Dad and Papa and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory include son Jeff (Stephanie) Davis of Columbus; daughter Julie Burns (sig. other Mark Cole) of Columbus; grandchildren: Madelyn and Ivy Burns, James and Joseph Davis; and countless nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings: Phil, Dave, Lew, Tom, Bill, Jane, Barb, Margaret, and Ruth.
It was Jim’s wish to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the discretion of the family. Arrangements are in the care of SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Kenton. Memorial contributions may be made to Warriors for Dogs, for the Hardin County Dog Shelter. Condolences may be expressed online at stoutcrates.com.
