Obituary for John Michael Loomis

John Michael Loomis, of Marion, Ohio. passed away March 18, 2026. Predeceased by his parents John and Mary Loomis; and Birth-mother Mary O’Malley. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Ellen JoAnn Drumm Loomis; loving father of Kelli Marie Loomis, Hazel Nicole Shrestha, and Kimberly Renee Loomis; dear brother of Sister Rosemary Loomis; proud grandfather of Billy Peck, Everett Friend III, Kaylee Green, and Nadia Tolar; and great-grandfather of Jules.

Raised in Upper Arlington, Ohio. John was known for his kind heart, warm smile, and willingness to help anyone in need. He enjoyed reading, working in his garage, trains, video games, and lifelong learning.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 27, from 11 AM. to 1 PM. at Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home located in Kenton, Ohio, with services to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to the Marion County Democratic Party, or KidneyCAN A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

John’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always carried in the hearts of those who loved him.
