Jon C. Zimmerman
April 1, 1936 – November 25, 2025

Jon C. Zimmerman, 89, of Upper Sandusky, passed away on November 25, 2025, in Findlay under the compassionate care of Bridge Hospice.

He was born on April 1, 1936, in Upper Sandusky to Carl and Madeline (Rowe) Zimmerman. Jon graduated from Upper Sandusky High School and went on to attend Michigan State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture.

Jon married Eleanor (Hetzel) who preceded him in death. Together, they owned and operated Zimmerman Flower Shop, where Jon took great pride in serving his customers and friends, always with the help and support of his beloved wife.

Jon was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and later First Lutheran Church. He was also a life member of BPOE Elks #83, member of the American Legion Post #225, the Upper Sandusky Lions Club, and the Upper Sandusky Rotary Club. Jon was a 66 year member of Warpole Masonic Lodge #176 F&AM; 65 year member of McCutchen Chapter #96 R.A.M.; 65 year member of Upper Sandusky Council #98 R&SM; and belonged to Marion Commander #35 of Knights Templar.

He volunteered for 31 years with the Upper Sandusky Fire Department and was dedicated to giving back to his community.
In his free time, Jon enjoyed eating out, spending summers on Lake Erie fishing and boating on his Lyman boat, riding his motorcycle, and appreciating old cars. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Michael) Andres of Upper Sandusky, and his son, Jon E. (Melissa) Zimmerman, also of Upper Sandusky. Jon was a proud grandfather to Jason (Sara) Zimmerman, Zachary (Jessica) Zimmerman, Cali Andres, and proud great grandfather to Ella and Ilah Zimmerman and Stetson and Sage Zimmerman.

Jon’s family and friends will remember him for his steady presence, his love of life, great sense of humor and the devotion he had for his family, his community, and his customers.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday Dec. 1, 2025 at Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Rich officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s or Nationwide Children’s Nephrology Department, Columbus, Ohio, American Heart Asso. or American Cancer Society in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E. Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
