A celebration of life for Joy Leah Smith will be held at a later date. It was her wish to be cremated. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Joy passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 1, 1960, in Kenton to the late Harlen and Helen (Toga) Gammon. She married Steve Smith on June 16, 2006, and he preceded her in death on January 9, 2020.
Surviving are 2 sons; James Collins of Kenton, Christopher (Lesa) Adams of Kenton, 2 sisters; Kay Eileen Carder of Kenton, Raejean Gammon of Lima, 2 brothers; Harold William Gammon of Ridgeway, David (Teresa) Gammon of Hepburn, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Kenneth Wayne Gammon and Andrew Gammon.
Joy enjoyed helping people, listening to music, especially Bon Jovi, and collecting anything that had to do with clowns and Mickey Mouse. She was a private person who kept to herself and watched her favorite shows.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joy’s honor may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
