Judith M. “Judy” McCurdy, age 80, of Ada, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Lima Memorial Health System surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 1, 1943, in Lima, Ohio to the late Everett and Margaret (Brinkman) Schmenk. Judy married Gary Lee McCurdy on May 6, 1977 and he preceded her in death on March 11, 2015.
Judy is survived by her four children: Mick (Frances) of Cape Neddick, Maine, Joe (Emily) of Delaware, Ohio, Cari (Dan) of Newmarket, New Hampshire and Katy (Eric) of Richmond, Virginia; son-in-law, Clint Mathewson of Ada; ten grandchildren: Kass, Paulina, Charlie, Sam, Jude, Rett, Lou, Cleo, Joey and Calvin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amelia “Molly” Mathewson; three brothers: Don Schmenk, Bob Schmenk and Tom Schmenk; and a sister, RoseAnn Giesken.
Judy retired from Rite Aid Pharmacy, where she worked as a pharmacy technician. She also was a homemaker and then worked at Pepper Drugs, Ada. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ada.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
