Kathy Sue Stedman, 81, of Kenton, passed away at Hardin Memorial Hospital on Friday, February 6, 2026. She was born in Monroe, Michigan on July 27, 1944 to the late Wayne and Opal (Shepherd) Armentrout. On April 21, 1978 she married Stephen Stedman who survives in Kenton.
Kathy leaves behind her son, Kyle (Alyssa) Johnston, of Kenton; grandsons, Kooper and Korbin Johnston; sister, Judy (Ted) Spradlin of Alger, and her in-laws, Roger (Sherry) Stedman, of Kenton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Many customers remember Kathy from her over 40 years of employment at Uhlman’s, Stage, and Peebles department stores in Kenton. She was a member of the McGuffey Church of Christ, the Mistletoe Ball Committee for the Hardin Memorial Hospital Foundation, and a founding member of Country Connections, which placed historical markers throughout the county and decorated homes for the Christmas Tour. Most of all Kathy loved to attend sporting events, especially when she could cheer for her grandsons, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 10-12pm at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, of Kenton. A funeral service will follow at 12 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Kyle Young officiating.
Burial will follow at McDonald Fairview Cemetery.
