Kim R. (Longbrake) Kaufman
March 13, 1961 – October 6, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kim Kaufman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. Kim’s passing was sudden and unexpected, but she was surrounded by her family at the time.

Kim was married to the love of her life, Merrill Kaufman for 43 years. Affectionately known as “Mimi”, her greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother and she devoted her time to supporting and celebrating her children and grandchildren. Known for her infectious laugh and friendly spirit, Kim had a gift for making others feel welcome and loved. Kim was generous with her time, energy, and consideration in the care of others.

Kim is survived by Merrill and her parents Gene and Shari Longbrake of Kenton; her children: Michelle (Dennis) Musser of Kenton, Caryn (Drew) Boyer of Columbus, Derek (Rachel) Kaufman of Kenton, Megan Kaufman of Dublin; her grandchildren Mia, Maggie and Molly Musser and Calvin, Vivienne, and Clara Boyer; and her siblings Lana (Bob) Jackson and Rob (Joanne) Longbrake; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

While Kim stayed home to raise her children for many years, she later worked as an office manager at The Moldmakers, Inc. for over 20 years. She and her husband coached the Kenton High School swim team for 24 years, along with starting the Kenton summer swim team. Kim and Merrill were co-owners of Skinny’s Tavern for 6 years.

Besides spending time with her family and friends, Kim enjoyed renovating and decorating her home including finding the ideal rug for the living room, the perfect beige color for the walls, or the optimal furniture arrangement. She also enjoyed a McDonald’s unsweetened iced tea every day. She was a considerate gift giver, devoting significant time in giving presents, especially at Christmas time.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, October 13, 2025, at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial at Grove Cemetery will follow. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service at 11:00 A.M. and from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the funeral home. Following the funeral, the family will hold a reception at the Elks in Kenton starting at 3:00 P.M. All who knew and loved Kim are welcome to attend and share in honoring her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kim’s name to the West Ohio Food Bank or Toys for Tots.
