Obituary for Lois A. “Lou” Spivey

Lois A. “Lou” Spivey departed her life on Saturday August 8, 2026, at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Kenton.

Lois was born on September 24, 1954 to the late Eugene E. and Marcella (Brown) Spivey, who both preceded her in death.

Lois was a lifelong member of Payne Chapel AME Church.  She was a faithful member, serving on the kitchen and Communion Ministries.  Lois was the neighborhood babysitter and spoiled countless children.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Gail (Buddy) Bailey and Donna Spivey both of Kenton, and a brother Gerald (John) Belman Spivey of Royal Oak MI., along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.  Lois was preceded in death by her sisters Florence (Susie) Brown, Linda Spivey, and Ella (Marlene) Vaughn.

Visitation will be at Payne Chapel AME Church from 11 until 1 on Friday August 14, 2026.  A funeral service will follow at 1 o ‘clock.  Burial will be in Grove Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Viaquest Hospice, Marysville, or Payne Chapel AME Church.
