Obituary for Loretta E. (Ward) Williams

A graveside service for Loretta E. (Ward) Williams will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at The Wolf Creek Cemetery in Kenton with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday May 7, 2025, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton.

Loretta passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on May 26, 1955, in Kenton, to the late Edward and Betty (Mack) Ward. On January 1, 2000, at the St. Johns United Church of Christ, she married her husband of 25 years, John F. Williams and he survives in Ridgeway. 

Also surviving are daughters, Sunni (Steven) Smiraldo of Findlay, Kristine (Leonard) Charrier of Chouteau, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Olivia (Darrell Pugin) Hubbell, William Hubbell, step-grandchildren, Leah (Seth) Knight, Amber (Andrew) Maury, step-great-grandchildren, Talon, Conner, Avery, and was expecting her first great-grandson, nephews, Brian (Emily) Mack, John (Stephenie) Mack, 2 great nieces, a great nephew, and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Mack.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Mack and a nephew, Thomas Mack.

She attended school at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church School in Kenton from 1st- 7th grade. Loretta graduated from Kenton High School in 1973. She then got her associates degree from University of Northwestern in Lima. She then worked for the Union County Board of DD as well as the Hardin County Board of DD from which she retired. 

Loretta was a member of Bridgeport Church and would also watch Victory Church online.

Known as the “Crazy Cat Lady”, Loretta loved her pet cats and taking care of them. In her free time, Loretta enjoyed sewing, and canning vegetables from her garden. She also liked to listen to music, especially from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. She would go to the U.S. 30-yard sales, flea markets, and would take trips to Amish country. 

Memorial donations in Loretta’s honor may be made to the family.
