Obituary for Mark P. Sherman

Mark P. Sherman passed away on Friday, October 30, 2026, at the Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born on August 5, 1956, in Kenton to the late Lester and Marianna (Scharf) Sherman. On July 27, 1980, he married Mary Ann Scott, and they later divorced.

He is survived by his son, Mark (Michele) Sherman Jr. of Kenton; three grandchildren, Olivia Alise Sherman, Ella Marie Sherman, and Alaina Grace Sherman; his siblings, Patricia (Richard) Carncross, Frederick (Ruth) Sherman, Kathleen Sherman, L. Vincent (Donna) Sherman, and Thomas (Krista) Sherman; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah Ann Sherman.

Mark was a 1975 graduate of Kenton High School. He worked for Durez and retired after 28 years of service. He was also a member of the Kenton Full Gospel Church in Kenton.

Mark was a private person who enjoyed the simple things in life, especially a cold Mountain Dew or some ice cream. Most of all, Mark cherished his granddaughters and loved spending time with them going on golf cart rides.

Funeral services for Mark will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton, with Pastor Anita VanBuskirk officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kenton. Friends and family may visit two hours prior to the services at the funeral home.

Memorial donations in Mark’s honor may be made to the Kenton Full Gospel Church in Kenton.
