Patricia Joan Brehm, 97, of Kenton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Blanchard Place in Kenton on October 10, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, and her presence will be deeply missed by those who loved
her.

Patricia was born to Elsie and Glenn Showers on June 9, 1929, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was the youngest of six children. In her early years, Pat’s family moved to Galesburg, Illinois and she graduated from Galesburg High School in 1947. She then
attended the University of Illinois for two years and worked in the office of the local telephone company. It was at this time that she met Earl Brehm and they married in February, 1951.

Earl served in the Korean War and upon his return they settled in Des Moines, Iowa where their first daughter was born. Soon after that the couple returned to live in Galesburg and were blessed with two more daughters.

In 1965 the family moved to Kenton, Ohio where Pat lived the remainder of her life. The couple owned the Kenton Credit Bureau and Collection Agency. Over time they established credit bureaus in Upper Sandusky and Bellefontaine. Upon retirement, Pat and Earl traveled to many countries and also enjoyed travelling with the Elderhostel Program. Always an avid and talented bridge player, Pat was a member of several bridge clubs and actively played until her mid-90s. She enjoyed taking care of her landscaping and flower gardens, as well as watching the birds at the bird feeder outside her window. She always had a book to read in her free time.

Eventually she became a fan of the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoyed spending weekends watching their football games and sharing game details with her sons-in-law.

Pat is survived by her three daughters, Laurie (John) Steinman, Ellen (Tobin) Clark and Janice (Keith) Kissling; six grandchildren, Sarah (Don) Daws, Tobey (Amy) Steinman, Corey (Alejandra) Clark, Carmen (Tommy) Knott, Drew (Emily) Kissling, Jarrod (Allison) Kissling, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was very proud of her family.

The family will celebrate the life of Patricia at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Kenton First Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Mary Lou Johnson Hardin County District Library or to Blanchard Place for their loving care.

Memorials to Blanchard Place must be made only by mailing an Amazon or Walmart gift card so that the residents may continue to enjoy special games, activities and events.
