With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roger O. Sites. Roger passed peacefully on March 15, 2025. He was born on July 07/1946 in Kenton to the late Edward “Buck” and Mary (Powell) Sites. He leaves behind Wanda, a wife of nearly 54 years, and two children: Brad (Jennifer) Sites, and Karri (Rob) McFarland. He also leaves behind two precious grandsons, Carter Sites and Maddox McFarland.
He graduated from Hardin Northern in 1964, where he continued to be an active and avid supporter of sports at his alma mater throughout his life.
Roger retired as a millwright from Cooper Tire and Rubber after over thirty years of dedicated service. He had a knack for repairing things, and “tinkering” around the barn.
He was passionate about his family, farming, and watching football, but his greatest joy was being “Papaw” to Carter and Maddox.
Roger enjoyed farming with his son and running wagons back and forth to the elevator. As a very loyal Ohio State Buckeyes fan, he enjoyed many Saturdays spent in “The Shoe” with his wife. However, his favorite athlete was his grandson Carter, whom he had the joy of watching play baseball. Equally, he relished hearing about Maddox’s adventures as a “police officer.”
Those who knew Roger knew he would help a friend or neighbor at the drop of a hat, expecting nothing in return. He was a kind man, a generous provider, and a constant supporter for his family. He will be sorely missed and is loved beyond words.
Funeral services for Roger Sites will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Price McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Kenton. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to the services and the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Kidney Foundation.
