Russell C. Gordon, 81, passed from death to life on January 12, 2024, in Charlotte, NC. He was born on March 15, 1942, in Tippecanoe, IN, to Mr. and Mrs. Carl F. Gordon. He was a pastor in the Brethren denomination for 50 years, serving churches in Ohio, Kansas, Florida, Indiana and Illinois. He also spent time as the Director of Home Missions for the Brethren Church and chaplain with the Fort Scott, KS Police department and the Manatee County Sheriff’s department.
Russ was a loving and committed husband to Sherrie (Humphrey) and father to Ryan and David. He is remembered by his wife and sons, two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his mother, one brother and countless other who knew and loved him. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Williamstown Brethren Church. Burial will follow in Dunkirk Cemetery.
