Obituary for Shirley McDougle

Shirley passed away peacefully at 3:44 A.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. It was her 64th birthday.

She was born in Bluffton on November 26, 1961, to the late Thomas Jay McDougle and Ruby Eleanor (Sparrowe) McDougle.

She is survived by her two sons: Tyler Bruns of Cincinnati, Trey (Marie) Bruns of Sidney and granddaughter, Maria. She is also survived by her four siblings: Mike (Patty) McDougle of Forest, Randy (Diane) McDougle of Ridgeway, Penny Cavinee of Forest, Carol McDougle of Bowling Green, her many nieces and nephews; Shane, Aaron, Jay, Jess, Brian, Blake, Jami, Tommy, Tony, her stepmother, Dorothy McDougle, Sister-in-law, Deb Ault of Lima, and the father of her children, Theodore Bruns of Piqua and her dog, Shade, as well as many other friends, loved ones and family.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Danny McDougle, sister, Kathy Gossard and brother-in-law, Gary Cavinee.

Shirley had a lifelong passion for animals and enjoyed making jewelry, and she had a wild and carefree, creative spirit. She will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor, joy of creativity and deep love for her family.

A celebration of life for Shirley will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
