December 20, 1938 – December 21, 2025

Stanley R. Howell age 87 of Wharton died at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center, on Sun. Dec, 21, 2025. He was born Dec. 20, 1938 in Oak Hill, OH to the late Wilbert and Beatrice (Jenkins) Howell. He married Brenda Ellcessor on June 13, 1965, they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Surviving are daughters Rhonda (Rob) Maloney, Westerville, Jennifer (Fred) Sanders, Westerville, and a son Ronnie (Misti) Howell, Upper Sandusky, grandchildren Renee, Robert, Rachel Maloney, Alex, Kyle and Emma Sanders, and Laine Howell, great grandchildren Roman & Millie Mollaun and Easton Maloney. He is preceded in death by a brother Wilbur Howell and sisters Marlyn Siders and Shirley Conley.

He graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1957 and was a Veteran of the National Guard. Mr. Howell was member of Wharton First Church of God, where he was a Trustee, Deacon, Elder and Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Howell had been employed by the former Parker Hannifen, now UAP. He enjoyed the outdoors, deer and turkey hunting, and fishing in Canada and Indiana. He sang in gospel music groups, Glory Land Singers, Living Water, and Blue Grass Gospel.

A funeral service will be held Fri. Dec. 26, 2025 at 12:00PM in the Wharton First Church of God with Pastor David Odegard and Pastor Derek Pryer officiating. Interment will follow in Wharton Richland Union Cemetery, Wharton. Visitation is from 10:00AM-12:00PM before time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wharton Church of God or Parkinson’s Foundation in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S. Patterson St. Forest, OH 45843.
