At his request, there will be no services for Steven Franklin Barker. It was his wish to be cremated. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Steve passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton. He was born December 3, 1952, in Kenton to the late Gene and Phyllis (Holcomb) Barker. On May 29, 1976, he married Christina France, and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mallory Barker of Kenton, a son, Logan Barker of Kenton, brothers, Kenny (Martha) Barker of Alger, Don Barker of Kenton, a sister-in-law, Dawn Barker of Kenton, brother-in-law, Kevin France of Mt. Victory, several nieces and nephews, and his dogs, Bella, Rae, and Bane.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Barker.
Steve was a 1970 graduate of Kenton High School. He worked for International Paper in maintenance for over 30 years before retiring.
Steve was never the type to sit still, he was always out doing something. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of the Trophy Bass Masters in Kenton. He loved mowing his yard and also enjoyed going to the grocery store just so he could socialize.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
