Thomas L. Henige formerly of Upper Sandusky passed away on March 10, 2025, at the Cleveland Fairview Hospital. Born on August 13, 1937, in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, he lived a life characterized by dedication to his profession, his faith, and his family.
A lifelong Catholic, Thomas received his foundational education at St. Peter’s Catholic School before graduating from Upper Sandusky High School in 1955. He pursued a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Marquette University, where he graduated in 1962. His interest in computers and technology paved the way for a successful career during which he served as an engineer, IT salesperson, and consultant for companies such as IBM, Control Data, AT&T, and Coopers & Lybrand.
Beyond his professional achievements, Thomas proudly served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1957 aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid.
An avid reader, Thomas possessed a keen interest in current events and loved engaging in discussions surrounding them. He was a lifelong fan of Cleveland Indians baseball and Ohio State football, often sharing his enthusiasm for these sports with family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas Henige of Plano, Texas, and Craig Henige of Baltimore, Maryland; and his sisters, Mary Kathryn Ferris of Columbus, Ohio, and Francis Jacoby of Hamilton, Ohio. Thomas joins his deceased loved ones in eternal rest, including his father, Clarence Henige; mother, Kathryn (Lucas) Henige; his wife, Linda Henige, who he married on October 20, 1962, and who passed away on January 5, 2024; as well as his sister, Martha Thomas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday April 12, 2025 at 11am at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church. Family and Friends may gather on Saturday from 9am-10:30am at Bringman Clark Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Bringman Clark Shields Funeral Home
