Thomas “Tom” Irvin Jordan

of Kenton

Tom was born on July 4, 1949, to Arthur “Irvin” Jordan and Starling Josephine (Gray) Jordan who preceded him in death. Tom passed away peacefully under Hospice care at Wyandot Co. Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Upper Sandusky on May 27th at 5:42 am.

Tom was a graduate of Ridgemont H.S. class of 1967. He married Anna White in 1967, and they had two sons, Shawn (Tonya) Jordan and preceding him in death, Todd Jordan. They later divorced. In 1978 he married Julie (Dworetsky) Jordan, and they remained married for 33 years before divorcing and remained friends. Their children are Joshua (Angel) Jordan, Jinell (Jacob Pardo) Jordan and Jenna Jordan (Alex) Coffman.

Tom didn’t know a stranger and was eager to strike up a conversation with just about anyone at any time. He was an avid gun collector and hunter and spent hours searching for arrowheads. He loved going to trap shoots with his sons. He also enjoyed fast cars and going to drag racing events. Tom served in many areas of the community. He was on the Ridgeway Town council, Volunteer Fire Dept and Ridgeway Community Club for years. He also served on the Mt. Victory Water Board. His passion was coaching his children and their teams in baseball and softball for Ridgeway/Mt. Victory youth and later was the Ridgemont H.S Varsity Softball Coach. He beamed with pride at his children’s accomplishments over the years. He previously was a member of the McGuffey Conservation Club, Hardin Co. Coolhunters Club and the NRA and the Kenton Moose. He worked for Morton Buildings for 40 years. He also learned the skill of woodworking from his father. They enjoyed many hours of creating beautiful wood pieces over the years. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan. He was a man of quiet strength and enduring love for his family.

Tom had 3 siblings. Larry Jordan, Elaine (Jordan) Harvey, and William Jordan who preceded him in death. He had 10 grandchildren, Caitlin (Jordan) Rathert, Rebecca Jordan, Austin Jordan and Cameron Jordan, Jacob Jordan, Urijah Pardo, Atlus Pardo, Elias Coffman and Emmy Coffman. He was also preceded in death by a beloved grandson, Lux Pardo. He also had one great grandchild, Jordan Rathert.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday June 5th from 1 to 5 at The Coterie in downtown Kenton. Family will be available to celebrate the life of Tom. He will always be remembered for his wisdom, humor and steadfast love. A private burial with the family will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being made by Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton.
