Obituary for Timothy L. Altvater

Timothy Lee Altvater, age 65, of Kenton, died Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kenton, Ohio.

He was born August 23, 1960, to the late Robert and Viola (Guthrie) Altvater. Tim married Susan A. (Wyant) Altvater on November 22, 1985, and she survives in Kenton. He is also survived by his daughters, Leann (Glen Bridges) Altvater of
Lima and Krystal (James Born) Altvater of Kenton; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Tim was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Altvater; daughter, Heather Altvater; two brothers, Kenny and Rick Altvater; and a sister, Cindy Gay.

Tim painted houses and also worked at Uni-Grip in Upper Sandusky. He was a member of the Kenton Eagles Lodge. In his free time, he enjoyed playing pool, coloring, and collecting coins.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 1-4 p.m. at the Kenton Eagles Lodge in Kenton, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Clark Shields Funeral Home to assist the family.
