William A. Buxton age 81 of Forest, died Feb. 27, 2024 at OSU East Hospital, Columbus. He was born Apr. 17, 1942 in Bucyrus to the late William C. and Alice J. (McNutt) Buxton. He married Charlotte S. Weber on Dec. 26, 1960, she survives along with their children Brett (Karen) Buxton, Upper Sandusky, Douglas (Vivinia) Buxton and Tammy (Michael) Conley, both of Forest, exchange students Lauri Manninen, Finland, Christian Radtke and Kathrin Voelkel, both of Germany, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a sister Murna (Ray) Roach, Forest. He is preceded in death by a daughter Melinda Sue Buxton, a grandson Tony S. Buxton, a brother David Buxton and an exchange student Gesine Radtke of Germany.
Mr. Buxton was a 1961 graduate of Forest High School. He was a member and a past trustee of Heritage Christian Union Church. Mr. Buxton had been employed by Westinghouse for 15 years, he was a grain, livestock and dairy farmer. He and his wife operated Buxton Family Food Trailer, he was a Jackson Twp. Wyandot Co. Trustee and drove Amish throughout Ohio for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held Fri. Mar. 1, 2024 at 10:30AM at the Heritage Christian Union Church with Pastors Rev. Ken Gray and Rev. Rex Roth officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thurs. Feb. 29, 2024 at the Clark Shields Funeral Home from 3:00-7:00PM. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Heritage Christian Union Church in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S. Patterson St. Forest, OH 45843.
