Funeral services for William C. “Bill” Murphy will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Chaplin Conrad Esh officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to the services at the funeral home.
William passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 2:07 P.M. at his residence in Kenton. He was born on February 15, 1938 in Kenton to the late Theodore and Juanita (Holden) Murphy. He married Ruby J. Leiss, his wife of 64 years on June 5, 1959 and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are a son, David (Mary) Murphy of Kenton, grandchildren; Danielle (Jeremy Hay) Murphy of Texas, Stephanie (Wes) Hilsher of Kenton, Jessica (Anthony) Black of Kenton, great-grandchildren; Cooper and Emma Hay, Kaylee, Paisley and Riley Hilsher, and Noah, Eli and Asher Black.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and James Murphy and a son, Donald Murphy.
William graduated from Kenton High School in 1958. He worked at BLH in Lima for 18 years until they closed and he later went on to retire from Hardin Northern Schools as a Janitor.
He liked to work with his hands and enjoyed mowing grass on his John Deere tractor.
Memorial donations in William’s honor may be made to Tranquility Hospice.
