Memorial services for Winifred Streets will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Winifred Ethel Streets passed away in Kenton on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born On August 16, 1933 in Lima to the late Christi and Clara (Rodefor) Katterheinrich. She married Paul Streets in 1952 and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2010 after 58 years of marriage.
Surviving are her 3 sons; Daniel W. (Carol) Streets of Aurora, Colorado, Jeffrey A. Streets of Belle Center, Steven C. (Holly) Streets of Eaton, Ohio, several grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather K. Streets who passed away in 2014, a sister, Betty Baldwin, and brother, Leroy Katterheinrich.
She graduated from Kenton High School and loved people.
Winnie was a long-time resident of Kenton and a young child when she started attending First United Methodist Church in Kenton. Her three sons all remember that going to church is what they did every Sunday. Winnie remained active in this church until the past couple of years, having sung in the choir for decades. With her amazing seamstress skill, she made seasonal and holiday banners that continue to be hung in the sanctuary.
She was an avid gardener and a wonderful cook and enjoyed hosting holiday meals which her children and grandchildren will always remember with fondness.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Winifred’s honor may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Kenton.
