Over winter break, a group of students involved in the ONU Habitat for Humanity group participated in the Habitat for Humanity Collegiate Challenge.
Habitat’s Collegiate Challenge program provides year-round alternative school break volunteer opportunities for college students across the United States.
Dr. Lauren Logan, Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering was the chaperone for the trip. Several College of Engineering majors participated, including Abby Collins (organizer of the trip), Evan Budnik, Blake Schubert and Zach Toth.
The group traveled to Winston-Salem, NC for one week to work on houses. They got to build and raise the first wall for a house, and met the soon-to-be owner Robyn.
While in Winston-Salem, the group also explored the downtown area, enjoyed local coffee and baked goods, and a visit to the Oddities and Curiosities shop.
