Grady Phelps, a freshman from Riverdale High School, put his name into the Falcon history books this weekend at the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s Division III Boys Wrestling State Championship that was held at the Jerome Schottenstein Center.
Phelps started his tournament journey on Friday, going 1-1 on the opening day of the state championships.

Phelps triumphed in his blood round match with an intense pin in double overtime on Saturday, securing his spot as the first-ever state placer in Riverdale Falcon wrestling history and advancing to the Quarterfinals.
Phelps continued his impressive run later that evening in the Quarterfinals, where he earned a hard-fought 7-4 decision and advanced to the Consolation Semifinals.
On Sunday, he capped off a phenomenal season by wrestling his way to a 5th place finish and landed his spot on the podium, making Riverdale Falcon history.
