United Way of Hardin County officials advocated for 2-1-1 in Columbus on Wednesday.

They met with several area legislators and came away impressed by their dedication, professionalism and caring.

2-1-1 is a phone hotline that connects callers to a social services resource professional.

If you have a question about food insecurities, rent, utilities, childcare, veteran services or more, you can call 2-1-1 to speak to a real person about services in the county.

2-1-1 is operated through a partnership with the Mental Health and Recovery Board.
