Overnight Fire in Kenton: One Injured, Multiple Departments Respond

According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at around 11:47pm to 100 Broadway Street in the city.

The home is owned by Craig Bayes, and the occupants were out of the house when firefighters arrived.

One person was transported by BKP to the hospital for treatment of burns.

The fire was contained to the downstairs, but there was extensive smoke and heat damage throughout the house.

Total dollar value of the damages was estimated at $60,000.

Automatic mutual aid was provided by fire departments from Forest, Mt. Victory and Richland Township.

Firefighters were on the scene for around two hours.

Investigators learned that an occupant was working on a motorcycle in the living room when a battery charger sparked and set the motorcycle on fire.
