WKTN Names Brennen Byrne as New Sports Director

Long-time WKTN radio personality Brennen Byrne has been appointed as the station’s new Sports Director, marking a significant expansion of his role at the Kenton-based station. Byrne, who has been a familiar voice to listeners during his weekday afternoon show, will now oversee all sports coverage, including live game broadcasts, local high school sports reporting, and regional sports news.

Byrne’s promotion reflects WKTN’s commitment to enhancing its local sports programming. Station management expressed confidence in his ability to lead the sports department, citing his deep community ties and passion for sports journalism. “Brennen’s dedication to our listeners and his extensive experience make him the ideal choice to spearhead our sports coverage,” said station manager Chad Spencer.

Listeners can continue to enjoy Brennen weekdays from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., where he offers a blend of music, entertainment, and now, enhanced sports content. His new responsibilities will also include coordinating coverage of local high school sports, providing live updates, and producing sports-related features that resonate with the community.
