Utility Pole Fire Closes Roads Near Memorial Park Golf Course in Kenton Late Monday

A utility pole belonging to American Electric Power caught on fire Monday evening in the area of the Memorial Park Golf Course on State Route 309 in Kenton.

The Kenton Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at around 8:10pm.

As a result, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office closed 309 from Jacob Parrot Boulevard to County Road 144, and County Road 175 was closed from State Routes 67 and 309.

Firefighters were on the scene until around 11:30 Monday night.

AEP crews responded to the scene to work on repairs.

The roads in the area were reopened at around 5:30 this morning.
