Kenton City Council met Tuesday evening.

Kenton Fire Chief Bruce Donnelly provided an update on hydrant maintenance and inspections across the city.

He said teams are making great progress with the cooperation of local businesses.

Council members heard that crews are working on pavement cutouts and will get back to crack-sealing in June.

ODOT’s project on North Detroit Street will tentatively begin on June 9 with tree removal.

Also at the meeting, Thad Gardner raised key traffic safety issues, particularly regarding school bus compliance and highway safety laws.

The Kenton City Council took time to thank the Kenton Lions Club for organizing a successful Memorial Day Parade on Monday.

Council then moved into a closed session to discuss labor negotiations.

Once back in open session, the tentative agreement with police patrolmen and sergeants was approved.

Video of the meeting is not available due to technical difficulties, and complete minutes will be posted at cityofkenton.com
