
The Kenton Lions club held its regular meeting on Wednesday June 4th, at Pioneer Park. The meeting was called to order at 6:33 pm by Lion President Jason Van Buskirk with 17 members and one potential member present. Lion President Jason led the pledge and the prayer. Lion Bill Keller led the installation of officers for the 2025-2026 year.

Lion Todd Oates made a motion to approve the Secretary’s report. After a 2nd by Lion Bill Keller, members voted. Motion passed. In Old Business, Lion Tracy Anderson reported on money turned in and that next year’s event, set for May 16th, has been added to the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance Calendar of Events.
Lion President Jason reported that the Veterans Banners are all up. Lion Judd Robinson gave a report on the Memorial Day Parade. Lion Kirk Cameron reported on mint money collected recently has been deposited. Lion Todd asked members to be thinking of skits and send ideas to his email for the 2026 show.
Lion President Jason asked if members were available to sell Raffle tickets at the June 22nd “Play For Purpose” Car show for the Cash Raffle Drawing at Eats on the Streets. Lion Gary Whitmer informed members that a trailer has been donated by the James Dulin Family and will be used as a display for the Lake of Lights and other events.
The Lions Members are very thankful for the donation. In New Business, Lion Dave Dulin of the EyeGlass Committee, reported that a local family has received a voucher for glasses that were desperately needed.
Lion Kirk Cameron introduced a new member, Rob Radway, a retired teacher and farmer, to be inducted into membership with the Kenton Lions Club. Members voted and motion passed to add Rob Radway as a member.
Lion Brad Bailey led discussion on having another food truck fundraiser in August to coincide with Kenton High Schools’ first home football game. Members suggested several types of food and Lion Dave will check with Smokehouse 101 for availability.
