Kenton Rotary Hears Year-End Update from KHS Principal Jason Jones

Kenton Rotary held its recent meeting.  Rotarian and Kenton High School principal, Jason Jones, gave a wrap up of the 2024-2025 high school year. 

Mr. Jones highlighted a year filled with student achievement in and out of the classroom.  From athletics to art, business classes to community service, community projects and academic excellence, the students in the high school stepped up in big ways. 

Quiz bowl went to the State competition along with competing in the Small School National Championship tournament in Chicago.

The boys powerlifting team were State champions. 

The boys bowling team placed 5th at the district bowling tournament. 

BPA competed at the state level and qualified and competed in the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida. 

Kenton High school also had the Elks teen of the year.  Art, Band, Choir, Winter Guard, JROTC and Conservation club continue to earn high marks, grow and serve their community. 

The girls cross country team was runner up in their league and advanced to the State Cross Country Championships for the first time in school history.  

The girls’ basketball team also made the district finals. 

Additional AP classes are being added so that youth have the opportunity to excel in their high school careers. 

Speaking of excellence, Mr. Jones shared that at the recent awards day, Wildcat students earned over $265,000 in scholarship money to further their education.  With achievement in academics, sports and the arts, Mr. Jones feels they are preparing young people for a future success in life.
