Recent Kenton High School graduate Chloe Hattery is returning to Kenton as the national runner-up in the HOSA Future Health Professionals International Leadership Conference Phlebotomy competition.
The conference was held in Nashville, Tennessee, and Hattery took a 50-question paper test in round one.
The top 30 scores on the written exam moved on to compete in the skills section of the competition.
The judges then average the students written test score with the score they are awarded from the skills portion.
While at the conference, Hattery and other Ohio Hi-Point students toured the Grand Ole Opry where they saw Country Music’s Lainey Wilson perform, and took a riverboat tour of Nashville.
The Kenton High School Health Science Technology program is a partnership with Ohio Hi-Point Career Center.
Kenton’s HOSA Future Health Professionals chapter is advised by Health Science Technology Teacher Amanda Bookmyer.
