The Hardin County Dog Shelter received an award by the Best Friends Animal Society Network.
The Best Friends Animal Society describes its mission as uniting thousands of public and private shelters, rescue groups, spay/neuter programs, and other animal welfare organizations across all 50 states. This national coalition is dedicated to saving the lives of homeless cats and dogs by working together, sharing information, and using proven life-saving strategies.
The award presented to the Hardin County Dog Warden was in recognition of maintaining or achieving no-kill status during calendar year 2024 by exceeding a 90 percent save rate for dogs.
The facilities dedicated staff and volunteers strive to find the dogs loving homes and to also give the dogs the best possible experience while they are at the facility.
