Trustwell Living at Blanchard Place is thanking Sarah Wirbel from Triony Salon, Quest Federal Credit Union-Kenton, and the many amazing Hardin County community members who helped bring a very special idea to life for one of their residents.
Donnie Dodds, a beloved member of the community, lives with short-term memory loss.
He proudly served as a mail carrier in Kenton for 35 years and often shares stories from his days delivering mail.
Inspired by his passion, Blanchard Place envisioned a dementia life enrichment activity that would give him purpose and joy through something he truly loved, which was being a mailman.
Thanks to the generous support, their vision has become a reality.
Blanchard Place has received hundreds of cards, installed mini mailboxes outside all 35 apartments, and outfitted Donnie with a mail carrier vest, hat, and mail bag.

The facility’s Activities Director has even been writing apartment numbers on envelopes so Donnie can sort and deliver mail to residents every day of the week.
His daily “mail route” has become a bright spot not only for him, but for the entire Blanchard Place community.
If you’d like to learn more or contribute cards, contact Sarah at Triony Salon or reach out to Blanchard Place in Kenton at 419-673-9821.
