Effective Today: Forest Mayor Dave Book Steps Down Citing Health Issues

The Village of Forest announced today that Mayor Dave Book has officially resigned, effective July 15, 2025, citing health-related reasons.

Book, who has served the community with dedication and leadership, is stepping down to focus on his well-being.

Council President Derek Hastings will assume the role of acting mayor.

Village officials expressed gratitude for Book’s service and asked for the community’s support during this period of transition.
