Kenton City Council Votes to Place Charter Commission Proposal and Safety Levy on November Ballot
Kenton City Council members discussed numerous projects at its meeting Monday evening.
Among them was applying for loans for crucial infrastructure projects.
Those include the Wayne Street trunk line and Barron Street water replacement, and resolutions to proceed with those projects were on first reading.
Council voted 5 to 1 to put a proposal to create a new city charter commission on the ballot in November.
2nd Ward Council member David Beazley cast the lone no vote.
Council is planning public engagement and a special meeting to discuss costs.
Also on the ballot will be the Safety Levy that would provide funds to the Police and Fire Departments.
This is the second attempt to pass the levy, which was narrowly defeated in the May Primary Election.
