Ohio’s 2025 sales tax holiday will run for two weeks, starting at midnight tonight and ending at 11:59pm Thursday, August 14th.
This is an expansion from the previous 3-day tax-free weekends in Ohio.
During this period, shoppers can purchase all tangible personal property priced at $500 or less per item without paying state and local sales taxes.
This includes school supplies, clothing and footwear, electronics and more.
Exclusions:
The following items will still be taxed:
Qualifying purchases can be made in-store and online during the specified dates and times.
There’s no limit on the total amount of tax-exempt purchases, but the exemption applies item-by-item.
If an item’s price exceeds $500, sales tax will be charged on the entire purchase price of that item.
