The Kenton Elks recently donated $2000 to S.O.U.P. of Hardin County.
SOUP, which stands for Some of Us People, was started by a group of people who decided they wanted to do something about people going without meals and having difficulties making ends meet at the end of the month.
The donation money will be used for food supplies and rent expenses for the Hardin County organization.
The funds come from a “Spotlight on Service” grant provided by the Elks National Foundation.
The presentation was made by Elks Trustee Julie Crowe and was accepted by S.O.U.P, Director Kathy Hilty.
