Benjamin Logan High School sophomore Tony Tambaro recently participated in the Village Makers Festival in Columbus on September 20. The community event featured live performances, line dancing, food trucks, kids’ activities, and a community drum circle, along with opportunities for local artists to share their work.

Tony proudly displayed his artwork and connected with other creatives, including professional artists and community leaders. His involvement in this festival was made possible through the guidance of Duarte Brown, BLHS Resident Artist, whose year-long work with students is sponsored by the Ohio Arts Council’s TeachArtsOhio program. Duarte is at BLHS by way of the grant written by Mrs. Jennifer Davis, which has created meaningful opportunities for students to grow as artists.

“Duarte’s presence in our building has truly elevated the arts experience for our students,” said Mrs. Jennifer Davis, BLHS art educator. “We’re thrilled to see students like Tony step forward and share their talents on such a meaningful stage.”

Tony expressed his gratitude for the experience: “It was amazing to share my art and meet so many talented people. I wouldn’t have had this opportunity without the encouragement I’ve received at BLHS.”

Benjamin Logan Local Schools is proud to see students making an impact beyond the classroom and representing the district with creativity and community spirit.
