The Waynesfield Police Department and the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office are actively investigating multiple incidents (12-15 properties) of vandalism that occurred between midnight and 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Several properties throughout the Village of Waynesfield were spray-painted with vulgar graffiti during this time frame.

Chief Nathan Motter stated that the departments are working diligently to identify the individuals responsible. “This type of damage impacts not only the property owners, but our entire community. We are asking for the public’s help to bring those involved to justice,” Chief Motter said.

The department is requesting that any residents or business owners with camera footage showing individuals on foot between midnight and 2:00 a.m. review their recordings. Anyone who may have relevant footage or other information is urged to contact the Waynesfield Police Department by private message or by calling 419-568-9080 and leaving a message.

Note: Most of the graffiti was vulgar in nature, which is why only one picture has been posted.
