Two People Transported for Smoke Inhalation on Sunday After House Fire in Bellefontaine

Two people were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire in Bellefontaine Sunday morning.

According to information from the Bellefontaine Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at just before 6:30 to 608 Florence Avenue for a residential structure fire.

Upon arrival, crews found a two-story residence, fully engulfed.

All off duty personnel were called in, as well as mutual aid from Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department.

The male and female occupants escaped the home and were transported, and no other injuries were reported.

The home had at least one working smoke alarm.

Crews were on the scene for approximately five hours.
