Closure of Detroit Street in Downtown Kenton Briefly Extended

Kenton Mayor Lynn webb announced at the Kenton City Council meeting this past Monday evening that the closure of Detorit Street in downtown Kenton has been extended.

While it was hoped it would open after the Christmas parade Tuesday evening, it is expected to remain closed for the remainder of this week and next week as well. will remain closed

The project is basically finished, but they are just waiting on final striping, which is scheduled to take place next week.

Also at the meeting, council unanimously approved an application for a sewer trunk line replacement on Perry Street with Helms & Sons.

Mayor Webb noted that the city is seeing serious interest from housing developers ready to bring new homes and more tax revenue to town.
