
Police in Lima are investigating a shooting that injured a 17-year-old male in that city Tuesday evening.
According to a release from the Lima Police Department, at around 8pm, several 911 calls were received in reference to shots being fired in the area of the Lima YMCA at 345 South Elizabeth Street.
Officers found several spent shell casings in the area, and some in the parking lot.
Shortly after the shooting, the victim of the shootings, a 17-year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg, arrived at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Officers began the investigation by reviewing videos and speaking to witnesses, and as a result, some of the combatants were identified.
Ultimately, 19-year-old Jai’Tajion Breland was located and arrested for suspicion of felonious assault and improperly discharging a firearm on a prohibited premises.
He was transported to the Allen County Jail.
Detectives are still investigating the incident and identifying involved individuals to determine all who were involved in the shooting.
