
The Kenton Wildcats bowling teams hosted Elida on Thursday night, with both squads coming out on top. The boys defeated the Bulldogs 2751-2523, while the girls claimed a 2520-1895 victory.
On the boys’ side, Kenton started strong with a 952 first individual game for a 187-pin lead, then widened it to 316 pins after an even better 958 in the second game. Though they cooled off in the five Baker games, 841-929, they held on for the WBL win. Eban Albert led with a 449 series (226-223), followed by Hudson Latimore’s 421 (200-221), Trevor Roesner’s 368 (195-173), Noah Beidelschies’ 327 (175-152), Cale Harshfield’s 189, and Parker Benson’s 156.
The girls opened with a school-record 894 first game, taking a 212-pin lead, then added a 756 second game to push it to 331 pins. They capped the night with another school record, an 870 in the Baker Games, for the WBL win. Jazalyn Worthington paced the team with a 415 series (224-191), Karyn Hopkins rolled a high game of 235 en route to a 391 (235-156), followed by Brayla Butler’s 337 (185-152), Addie Hites’ 255 (131-124), Lynnze Michel’s 133, and Shyan Cherry’s 119.
Next up, the boys head to Suburban Lanes in Bucyrus on Saturday for the Wynford Winter Classic, while the girls host Miller City at Hillcrest Lanes on Tuesday at 5 PM.
