Ohio Prep Sports Media Association Recognizes Local Athletes From Kenton, Upper Sandusky, Riverdale, Bellefontaine

The Ohio Prep Sports Media Association has named its 2024-2025 all-state high school girls basketball teams for divisions IV-VII. Among those honored was Grace Walton of Upper Sandusky who received a special mention in DIV. Walton averaged 13.8 PPG on the season. Senior Quinlan Zedeker of Bellefontaine received an honorable mention after averaging 13.5 PPG. Ada’s Kennedy Jones takes home 2nd at State

Kennedy Jones took home 2nd Place at the State Powerlifting Competition held at Kenton High School. Jones, a senior at Ada High School, competed in the State powerlifting competition in the female division lifting a total of 880 lbs. Her bench press of 180 lbs. was the highest bench press of the meet in the division. According to her school she also broke personal records in all three lifts, bench press-180lbs, squat-370 lbs, and deadlift- 330 lbs.

Local Athlete Excels in Weight Throw

H/T Lindsey Berger After a 2nd place at State, Riverdale student Brody Berger finished an unbelievable indoor track & field season with a 29th place at nationals in weight throw while being one of only four sophomores to qualify in the event.  Berger finished the season as the highest-ranked Grade 9-12 thrower in Northwest Ohio and 7th overall in the state, the top sophomore in all of Ohio as well as the 3rd-ranked sophomore in the country. The District 8 Basketball Coaches Association announced its awards for the 2024-2025 basketball season earlier this week, which included District 8 and OHSBCA North-South All-Star Game participants, All-District teams and scholarship recipients.
